High school life is way worse for girls than guys. The drama level is outrageous. Girls are like animals. We fight until we win. If you think about high school as a jungle , you would be on the right track. Now we all know that boys are the cause of most of this drama. Yes, they are the reason that we end up crying in our rooms for an hour listening to sad music; they are the reason best friends fight for that one guy, they are the reason high school is the mess that it is. What if there were no boys to start all of this drama? Better? Right? Think again. Everything started out fine in high school. The occasional friend fights and breakups with boyfriends but just like a usual high school year. Until my Mom decided that she wanted to switch things up a bit. She was tired of all of the drama I brought home. They boy troubles mostly. So she thought I would do better at an all girls school. She was completely wrong. They first day that I went they all stared at my clothes and hair. I thought this was good. I made my impression which I thought was a good one. Apparently most of them did not. I was wearing my Prada heels and my Juicy tank with a white cardigan from Ralph Lauran. I walked in feeling high because I was wearing my most expensive clothes. Heads turned but little did I know it was a bad thing. This rather skinny girl with red hair and freckles walked up to me.

“You know this is a UNIFORMED school. Right?”

“Oh. Of course… where do I get my uniform?”

“It’s right down that left hall over there. There should be a black door. Go through there and you will get to where you need to be.” The girl snickered.

“Ok. Thank you.”

I started to walk and felt everyone’s eyes on me. I saw the black door next to some lockers. What an odd place for an office. I walked in the room. It was dark.

“Hello?”
All of a sudden the door slammed behind me. I heard the lock click. Of course. I was locked in. A few minutes later I heard the click of high heels walking. A lady with a bun on the top of her head opened the door. She was very slender and tall. I walked out and she apologized. I saw the red head standing by her locker staring me down. Silently, the beast curled up, remaining watchful even as it rested. She was the beast and I was its prey. So much for an all girls school being better. I think it might be worse. Well we will see about that...

  1. Good use of symbolism with "the black door" -- I just knew nothing good would come out of that. Also, your social commentary about high school is dead on! I'd like to see you continue this piece.
