Highschool

Walking through the halls of my soon to be school, looking where my classes and teachers will sit. Scared and worried I wander the halls the day before school starts. Summer is almost over. Reality is back. The fun is over. Now it is time to work.

Crazy

It makes the pain go away. It finally stops. The pressure, it’s all gone. But no, no. That isn’t right, you can’t take the pain away. Never. It never stops. Shut out from the world. I need to stop. Stop, stop I say! Listen to me! Gosh, why won’t anyone listen to me? I need space, and time to help this thing. I need to go and fall into a pillow and figure out what’s wrong. Hello? Can you hear me? I want to leave this terrible place! I don’t belong here! I’m normal. I’m normal. Yes. I’m normal. I don’t understand why people will not let me talk. I have my reasons. Just leave it alone! The time has come. Come to this hour. I need to speak. The door. It’s opening… what is that? Food!? I don’t want food! Let me out!!! “ It’s lunch time. Enjoy Maryanne.”

Rollercoasters

I’m nervous as I feel my stomach twirl.

Inside and out I might hurl.

That feeling of fear and excitement as the ride starts

The feeling gets worse when you’re at the top.

Then you look down and see the drop,

Scream at the top of your lungs “Stop!”

But by then it’s too late, there is nothing they can do

You’re falling, falling to your doom.

Rumors

Whisper, whisper before they hear,

Hold the secret tight, so dear.

Why is everyone looking at me?

I don’t understand what I did that was so bad

Everything I hear makes me mad!

I hear different things from different people

The things I hear make me hateful

The pain I feel inside my heart, is like a it’s going to fall apart

Why would this happen to someone like me?

I try to be nice to everyone I see.

People I don’t like and people I do,

They all have an opinion on me

I don’t understand why the world revolves around this

It’s like being swallowed into a giant abyss.

The things I hear and see every day, make me think about how the world would be without these people.

The people that say these hurtful things,

Often tend to make sting ,which can never be repaired

The horrid things that people say, should not affect who you are and your ways.

Smile and nod to what they want, even though it’s only to taunt.

If you let these things pass by, I assure you your life will fly on by.

Around the world 5th grade

Ding! The school bell rang. Abby couldn’t wait to get out of school. Her best friend, Liz, was in a different 5th grade class this year so it was kind of a bummer. They’ve been in the same class every year until now. But at least they were next door neighbors so they could play whenever they want. Abby scrambled into the hallway to get her backpack. She slipped one strap onto her shoulder and grabbed her mail. As she rushed out to the buses her brown wavy, hair trailed behind her. Once Abby had sit down in her seat she couldn’t see Liz’s luscious red hair anywhere. Abby darted around the bus desperately looking for Liz. Liz was nowhere. She sat gloomily back down in her seat. The rest of the ride home she felt down in the dumps until she saw Liz and Liz’s parents talking by the door. And wait… it couldn’t be. Her parents were over there too! Abby sprinted over to Liz’s house as fast as she could. Liz had a worried and sad look on her face. Abby was afraid to find out what it was about. It looked like her parents were trying to sooth Liz.
“What? Your moving!?” I sort of blurted that one out. How could it be? Liz and I have been best friends since kindergarten.
“Why and where are you moving?!” Liz stood there looking at the floor and finally said trying to hold in tears.
“We’re moving to California because my Dad’s business is moving and they want him to come with.” Abby pushed everyone out of her way, tears flying everywhere as she raced to the door and slammed it behind her. And that was the last time she saw Liz, that day at least. Abby lay in bed thinking about how her life would change after Liz left. She gazed out her window into the blackening sky. She just had to think of a way to keep their friendship together. But her Mom always said “ You can’t run away from your fears.” That’s it! Liz and I will runaway together! Abby packed a small bag with food, five T-shirts, 5 long sleeve T-shirts, her favorite pair of fluffy pink p.js, 2 pairs of underwear, 3 pairs of pants and socks, and 4 water bottles. She figured she could wash her clothes in the river so she brought a bar of soap and all the money in her piggy bank. She put on a T-shirt and some jean shorts and she was off to get Liz. She tip toed down the hallway and to the stairs. She stepped onto the first step and it started to creak. She looked left and right to see if anybody heard her. Nobody was awake so she carried on. This time she skipped one step and went to the next until she got downstairs.

To be continued.

Vacations

I am so excited for summer. We have these friends that live in Brookfield, and they are a family of 6. We have traveled with them every year since I was in 3rd grade. They have 4 children. Billy(one year older than me), Emma,(one year younger than me), Kiely, ( 6th grade), and Maddie,( 3rd grade). We started out going to the Polynesian which is a water park in The Dells. This water park had lots of rides for little kids so it was good for us until we got too old. We enjoyed this for quite some time until we got bored with doing the same exact thing every year. So then we moved on to Mt. Olympus. This was also in The Dells. It was an amusement park based on Greek mythology. Each rollercoaster is named after a Greek god. There was Pegasus, Cyclops, Zeus, and Hades. Hades is this really tall wooden rollercoaster that goes up and down under the earth. That was my favorite ride there but there was always a long line, so we got there early in the morning. The only bad part was is that we would have hurt heads and backs when we were done because they were wooden. Otherwise it was a really fun vacation, but as always we got bored after a couple of years. Lastly we went to Cedar Point. Both of our families have a love for rollercoaster’s so Billy looked up the biggest rollercoaster in the United States and came up with Top Thrill Dragster. This ride is 400 ft. tall. It goes so fast, it’s like you were never on it. I absolutely love this park. If I could I would live there. I love all of the roller coasters especially Millennium Force. I think we are going back this year for the 3rd time but I am not sure. We might go somewhere else. You never know with our families. I think it would be really cool to go to Japan for rollercoaster’s but my mom says no. All in all I love to vacation with this family and would never give it up.

Short Story.

A wisp of wind blew across Kelsey’s face as she was driving. She lifted her hand to block her face from the icy wind. The chilled air pierced her warm flesh as it hit her cheek. She looked around to find a logical explanation. Her windows were closed, and her air was off in the car. It was the middle of the summer, so how could this be? She looked to the side of her to check if her best friend, April had made the cool breeze while reaching for something or moving. But she was fast asleep. There was no explanation, what so ever. Kelsey tugged on the edge of April’s shirt. Slowly, April yawned and opened her eyes.

“What do you want?” she said stretching her arms as far as they would go.

“Did you feel a breeze?” she said with a shaky voice.

“No. What are you talking about Kels. Are you ok?”

“I have to tell you something.”

“What is it?”

“Well…” Kelsey’s head whipped back to the road, but by the time her foot hit the break their car slid across the road. The car flipped on its side and Kelsey could hear the noise of the metal scraping against the cement. It was a red light they were running through, with all of the traffic coming towards them. April looked at her with a look she had never seen before. It was a look of pure terror. They held their gaze until they heard a loud honk. It was a huge semi truck headed towards them. It all happened so fast. Kelsey tried to step on the breaks as fast as she could but they didn’t work. The semi truck hit the side of the car where April was sitting. There was a crunch and Kelsey saw splotches of blood spurting from Aprils side. She assumed the crunching noise she heard was the sound of April’s bones being crushed by the huge amount of weight the truck carried. Everything went black. When Kelsey woke up in the hospital all she could think of was that she never got to tell her best friend one of the most important things in her life… to be continued
